In order to prevent erosion of the cowhide surface and hair follicles, it is necessary to vacuum your rug or cowhide periodically. For minor spills, a gentle treatment with soap and water on a sponge will clean your product without threatening it in any way. Remember that as you clean your cowhide product, you should not soak the suede backing. If you wish to clean your product more thoroughly, you may consider steam cleaning or you may as well contact your local carpet cleaner.
