FAQ

  • Why can't I see pricing on your website?

Hides and Skins deals with wholesale clients who buy in larger quantities and who have registered their business information with us. Once you register your business with us, we’ll send along our price list.

  • What's the procedure for registering as a wholesale customer?

It’s very simple. First, fill out our form here. Second, simply download, fill out, and then e-mail your Texas Sales and Use Tax form to sales@hidesandskinsinc.com.

Once we have that form on file, we’ll send along a price list and get you started on your first order!

  • Do I still need to fill out a Texas Sales and Use Tax form to become a wholesale client if my business isn't located in Texas?

Yes. We’re required by Texas law to keep Texas Sales and Use Tax forms on file for all of our wholesale clients, even those whose businesses are located outside the state. If you’re outside Texas, that’s no problem! Just fill out the form and put your home-state tax ID number on the designated line at the top of the form.

  • Do you have a minimum order quantity or minimum dollar amount per order?

    No.

  • How much are shipping costs?

Hides and Skins uses UPS to ship, and the cost of shipping is determined by weight, size and number of boxes, and the distance the boxes will travel from San Antonio, Texas. We will always tell you the shipping cost before completing your order.

  • Do you accept walk-in customers to your warehouse?

  • What's the difference between Brazilian, Colombian, and Argentinian cowhides?

Believe it or not, the country of origin matters when it comes to cowhides. Argentinian hides are the most affordable. They’re great for customers who are looking for rustic Western-style accent pieces, or craftspeople who are making clothing, furniture, accessories, or art. Colombian hides are right in the middle. They offer affordability with a few more style options than their Argentinian peers. And the Brazilians are top-of-the-line. They’re our best-sellers. They offer the most variety in terms of color, the largest sizes, the most durability, and the best quality.

  • How do I maintain a cowhide?

    Sweep or brush it periodically.
For minor spills, wipe it gently with a sponge and soapy water.
    Don’t use a washing machine.
    Don’t soak the suede backing.

  • What should I do if my cowhide rug is curling up around the edges?

Dampen the curling edge with water and place something heavy on it for a few hours. If the problem persists, carefully trim the curling edge off with scissors.
